COFFEE KISSES & CINNAMON SMILES
Waking up time
stirring under warm sheets
sounds of daytime
and changing rhythms
of breath and thought.
In the kitchen downstairs
smells of breakfast
fruity and vivid--
the promise of coffee kisses,
the stirring spoon in my cup--
pour sweet life into my veins.
Windchimes and breezes
bird calls and tree leaves
float in through the screen door.
I enter the sunlight
you stand by the window
that frames
your cinnamon smile.
What do I bring to this table?
Fresh arrangements of love and care
adoration and tenderness
presented in
a crystal
vase
fed by the purest waters of all.
I love you.
