for use with Infobahn International, Inc. This document has the following sections:

Installing Dial-Up Networking/Remote Access Services
A standard installation of Windows NT 4.0 or later will come with all of the pieces of software necessary
to open a dial-up connection to the Internet. All that the user needs to do is install the
components and configure them they are in place. The first component that must be installed
and configured is Dial-Up Networking or Remote Access Services. You can install Dial-Up Networking
by following the procedure below.
- Open the "My Computer" icon on the desktop.
- Double-click on the "Dial-Up Networking" icon within the "My Computer" window.
This will start the dial-up networking setup wizard.
- Insert you Windows NT CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive when prompted. The setup
wizard will then copy a number of software components from this CD-ROM to your computer’s
hard disk.
- When prompted with "There are no RAS capable devices to add. Do you want RAS to
invoke the modem installer to enable you to add a modem?", click on the "Yes" button.
- Select whether or not the Modem installer should attempt to detect your modem
(you want to do this in most cases -- otherwise you can select your modem’s manufacturer and
model)
- Enter your "Location Information", comprising the area code from which you will be
dialing, dialing prefixes and phone type. Click on the "Next" button when finished.
- When the "Add RAS Device" window appears, select your modem (if it is not already
selected) and then click on the "OK" button.
- In the "Remote Access Setup Screen" select your modem (again, if it is not already
selected) and then click on the "Continue" button.
- Click on the "Restart" button to restart your system and load the newly-installed software.
Setting up a Dial-Up Networking Connection
Once you have completed the process of installing the Dial-UP Networking/Remote Access
Services software, restarted the system and then logged in, the next step is to set up a
dial-up networking connection. The procedure to do so is:
- Double-click on the Dial-Up Networking icon inside the "My Computer" window.
- Click on the "OK" button when asked if you want to add a phone book entry.
- Enter "Infobahn" in the "Name of Phone Book Entry:" field. Click on the "Next" button.
- In the "Server" screen, make sure to check all three of the options "I am calling
the Internet", "Send my password in plain text if that’s the only way to connect" and "The non-Windows
NY system I am calling requires that you specify TCP/IP addresses before dialing.". Click on the "Next" button.
- In the "Phone Number" screen, click on the checkbox for "Use Telephony Dialing Properties".
Enter the country and area codes for the number you are to dial. Finally, enter the number itself (from
the list of dial-up numbers provided). Click on the "Next" button.
- In the "Serial Line Protocol" screen, select "Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP)", then click on
the "Next" button.
- In the next screen, select "Run this script:" when prompted for the type of login script
needed. Select "Generic Login" from the list of scripts given. Click on the "Edit Script" button.
- A Notepad window should appear with the contents of the generic login file. Look for a line:
OK="ogin:". Change this line to OK="):" and then save the contents of the file. Exit
Notepad and then click on the "OK" button.
- In the "IP address" screen, make sure that "0.0.0.0" is entered in the text field (this
indicates that the server assigns an IP address). Click on the "Next" button.
- In the "Name Server Addresses" screen, enter "208.0.145.7" for
the "DNS Server". Leave the "WINS Server:" line blank. Click on the "Next" button.
- Click on the "Finish" button to save the information.
You should now be able to open a Dial-Up Networking connection to Infobahn International, Inc. To do so,
simply double-click on the Dial-Up Networking icon, then click on the "Dial" button. Once the
connection comes up (this usually takes a minute or two), you can test the connection by
clicking "Run" on the Start menu, entering "telnet infobahn.icubed.com" in the "Open" field
and then clicking on the "OK" button. If you see the "Login:" prompt in the telnet window
after a few seconds all is well. If not, close telnet and try "telnet 208.0.145.2". If you
see the "Login:" prompt then, check you DNS server setting. After verifying that your
Dial-Up Networking connection is working properly, you can then run any other Internet
