Tickets for the Backstreet Boys' fall tour, "Into The Millennium," went on sale Saturday, and all 40 shows
-- plus an extra 13 that were added due to demand -- sold out the same day. The act moved 600,000
tickets, for a gross of about $27 million.

The tour now begins a day earlier -- Sept. 14 -- with a pair of performances at National Car Rental Center
in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. SFX Entertainment will handle about half the dates, with the rest going to local and
regional promoters.

The Boys recently wrapped up a 42-city European outing. Their sophomore Jive disc, "Millennium," is
completing its eighth week atop The Billboard 200.

In other live-entertainment news, the 15-show stand by Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band at
Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, N.J., came to a close Aug. 12 after grossing about $19
million.

The figure easily tops the previous North American arena gross record of $16.5 million set by Barbra
Streisand in the summer of 1994 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

About 300,000 attended Springsteen's Jersey shows. "It was spectacular," says Barry Bell, his longtime
agent at Premier Talent. "The audiences were nuts."

Springsteen has now performed 49 shows at Continental Airlines Arena (formerly the Meadowlands),
more than any other artist. Speculation is that his 50th show at the venue will be on New Year's Eve.
