Concert Reviews: 5 Shows in Spain (Lidia)

Source: Lidia nickajkev@yahoo.com http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Backstage/7340

The lights started to turn off, the scream of the 20000 persons that were there was AWESOME. First in
the stage appeared the BSB's Band dressed in white outfits, then the dancers dressed in orange and
taking with them some kind of lights-torchs, when all of them have put their own light in the stage the
famous BSB countdown started. ....3,2,1,0 and after a while we started to hear the starwars music and
while from one side of the stage were a lot of smoke, fireworks... in just seconds we could see five
shadows, guess who? yeah! Our BOYS!. They came to the stage in some kind of surfboards, while they
were "fliying" they didn't make any move. It was INCREDIBLE, and the screams were SO LOUD!

After "landed" the dancers and them starting to walk around the stage stoping in each side of it, while
they did this they were all completly static, without move any inch, just Nick couldn't just stay there
without smiling (how sweet can be this guy?!). When they finish their "tour" around the stage Kev said:
"San Sebastian, Are you ready to party?". Then the show started with 3 powerfull songs: Larger Than
Life, Get Down and The One. For these 3 songs they were dressed with dark-blue trousers, light-blue
sweaters and some kind of blue vests (they were dressed perfect to me 'cos I LOVE blue :) And in the 5
concerts I went Nick wore a cute ponytail in his hair!

Then all of them talk with us a bit, in all the concerts they said almost the same, now I'll tell you what they
said in Barcelona on 14th. The first who talk was Nick: "Hello Barcelona...wait a minute, wait a minute, I
said Barcelona. I know you are there. I like to welcome all of you, and all of you watching tonight, to the
Backstreet's into the Millennium Tour. My name's Nick Carter. I just got a couple of things to say you.
First all I'm sure you're wondering why we've been away for so long. Well I'm here to answer this
question. First all we have to record a brand new album called Millenium. Did you enjoy the Millennium?
Yes? Si??. And of course after any album comes a brand new tour. Backstreet's Back, alright? I said all I
can say for right now. And I want let you say hello to the other fellas. But I have one more thing to say. I
don't know very much Spanish, but I know one thing: Te Amo. We missed you. We love you. Thank you for
coming. Enjoy" Then AJ: "¿que pasa Barcelona?. Hi, How are you?. I'm glad to be in Barcelona. You guys
look so beautiful tonight. Perfect. I want you guys to enjoy the rest of the show. Have fun, scream your
heads off, make lot of noise, throw your hands up. Have a great time. Enjoy the rest of the show ok? My
name's AJ. Te amo. I love you. Peace. See ya" Then was Howie's turn, (in San Sebastian and Zaragoza he
said almost every thing in Spanish:): "Hola España! Mi nombre es Howie D. And I just wanna say I'm so
happy to be with each and everyone of you in Barcelona. I also wanna say muchas gracias for the bottom
of my heart to each and everyone of you for making our first single of our Millennium album, I want It
That Way numero uno aqui. I hope you enjoy the show tonight. Tonight es una fiesta para ustedes" The
next who talked was Brian: "Hola ¿como estas todo el mundo? muy bien? I just have a small little thing to
share with you. It's because of you watching on tv, if you're watching of tv. Or here, right with us
tonight in Barcelona. You make us: the backstreet boys. So thank you. Muchas gracias to you. Also wanna
say god bless you. Thank you for coming. Enjoy the show" And the last but no least was Kev: "Buenas
noches Barcelona. It's good to be here with you tonight and I wanna thank you again for all your love and
for make us feel so welcome when we come to Spain. Thank you. God bless you."

After that they sang As Long As You Love Me, they all were dressed with the trousers and the sweaters
of the begining, but they put off their blue vests and put on coats to their knees (I love these outfits). At
the end of the song they did the "chair dance" along with their dancers, who when the Boys left the stage
for change their outfits again, were doing a GREAT dance with the chairs. I really liked it.

Then they appeared in the middle of the stage with black outfits. AJ also was with a black cow boy hat.
When they appeared Nick was standing up and starting to sing Don't Wanna Lose You Now while the
others stayed squatting 'till the chorus started. In this song Nick's voice sounds incredibly PERFECT.
Then they started with Quit Playin' Games. After AJ's part all of them go to one corner of the stage and
after tied theirselves with cables and take their jackets off they were lifted in the air, and flew above
the audience. In the five concerts I was in the floor, but in the first one I saw AJ fly at my right and
Nick at my left, in the others I saw Kev at my left and Nick at my right. Kev, AJ and Howie were doing
somersaults all the time. Nick and Brian were quieter, above all Nick. He just swinging himself. In
Barcelona (14th) he threw roses. Then they came back to the stage to finish the song.

After a while the dancers and they appeared in the stage with the same outfits with a red best (seemed
to the blue of the beggining), it was time to Don't Want You Back! For this song in each corner of the
stage there is a fence for each BSB. In all the concerts (except one) I was exactly in front of Nick's
fence. And I have to say the way he moves his body in that song it's REALLY WILD and SEXY! (Above all
in Zaragoza, I thought I was going to die :) After finish the song they take off their vests and Kev says
"I need 5 mothers and daughters from the audience". They are choosed for so long (I think) 'cos after
Kev said that, they were already in the stage. And I think be there is not LUCK (I mean that they are not
there for a coincidence, they pulled some strings) Maybe one of you reading this have been one of these
"lucky" girls, and maybe I'm wrong, if I am and you could tell me the thruth of how you had the chance to
be there e-mail me and tell me please. Thanks.

After this song a piano was lifted down to the middle of the stage and Kev played a song (the one who he
played in the Unplugged, and also the one that he played last year in Zaragoza's hotel) While Kev played
the piano, Mindy played the saxo. It was so beatiful. When he finished, the rest of the boys appear on
the stage and while Kev plays the piano they sing Back To Your Heart. They all (except Kev who is in the
piano) are sitting togheter in one side of the stage.

They change their outfits again, and after a while in the middle of the stage appear a some kind of
cable-maze, and all the dancers climbed on it. They all dressed in white danced the Extended of
Everybody, and then the boys came to the stage and started to sing Everybody, they were all dressed in
white too. They sang a medley of: Everybody, We've Got It Goin' On and That's The Way I Like It. The
coreography to the last one is BRILLIANT. I LOVE IT. They did what the song says, I can't explain you...
You have to see it for understand me. In this song Nick make a lot of crazy things, he throws himself on
the floor, he doesn't stop to move his body... I just LOVE this song.

Then they change their white outfits for a pink ones, first they were without their coats (also pink). And
they sang Spanish Eyes, I'll Never Break Your Heart, half in Spanish and half in English. After this song
the plataform in were they were started to turn around, and they sang No One Else Comes Close. They
dissapeared for a while and came back still with their pink outfits, and sing All I Have To Give with their
dancers (they were dressed in grey). At the end of the song they did the "hat dance".

The next song was Show Me The Meaning, wich they dedicate to Denniz Pop. After Howie's part each
BSB dance with one dancer: Nick-Nicky :) AJ-Teresa, Kev-Kristin, Brian-Nefertiti and Howie-Amy. In all
the concerts I was in front of Nick in this song, and I LOVE the way he dances with Nicky. The way he
look at her, the feeling he puts in every move he does and every word he sing, the way in where he take
off his jacket and his tie...EVERYTHING! I LOVE this part of the concert! They end the song in the
plataform, and it goes down.

After a while they come back dressed in their own way. In all the concerts they were dressed in the same
way: Nick with a vest (so I could see his shark tattoo again, and also a bit of the other one he has in his
back) and black trousers, AJ wore green trousers and a white vest, Kev was dressed in black with a vest,
Brian wore beige trousers and a black t-shirt, and Howie was dressed in beige. Nick's vest was in all the
concerts (except one) grey with a red line, and in all of the concerts he was wearing a headscarf. They
sang It's Gotta Be You, and as soon as the song starts with the UUuu UUuu part, they stopped singed and
while EVRYBODY were singing UUuu UUuu. Each BSB introduce 2 dancers (girl and boy) and each pair
after they were introduced danced a bit.

I like the dancers, they make the show even better, and besides they are ALL great and so nice persons.
In all the concerts when the female-dancers appear on stage, I heard comments, and wich is worse insults
to them or even to Mindy. They said things like bitch and stuff like that... Maybe you have done this (hope
you don't). I think the people who do that have no respect for them. Why you/they do it? If you can tell
me, 'cos I CAN'T understand you. I have talked with the dancers and they are SO nice and pleasant
persons. And when I heard in a concert girls insulting them, I felt bad. Imagine that one of the dancers is
your friend or that you are one of them, why would you feel listening that some people are insulting you in
that way?. Just think about it.

Well, I begin after introduce all the dancers (I LOVE the way Nick says Teresa :) They introduce the
Band. I LOVE this introductions part of the concert. All of them are making CRAZY things all the time
above all Nick. He's DA BOMB! After introduce everybody they go to the middle again and finish the
song. Then confetti started to fell above us while they (dancers and bsb) say goodbye from each side of
the stage. But it's NOT the end of the concert. The last song of the concert is I Want It That Way, it's
amazing how loud we sang this song in all the concerts. Then they go to the plataform in the middle and it
goes up where they finish the song, and after a while it starts to go down while they say goodbye. After
they leave, the show ended with huge fireworks! I love that, the only thing that it's the end of the
concert.

Concert Review: August 7, Stockholm, Sweden (Linda)

Source: Linda dreamer_lr@hotmail.com

Hi!

Yesterday me and my friends went to see our favourite guys, Backstreet Boys LIVE!!!! What a show ! My
favourite parts were when they sung "Back to your heart" (Nick was so funny and Brian was so sweet),
when they flew over the audience and of course the great end ! The bad things were that it became a
little messy when they were introducing the dancers and the band and of course that the show ended at
all, but except that, well it was fantastic !

I have to tell you another thing as well. Today I went to the Okej-day here in Stockholm. It´s a big pop
concert that´s arranged by a Swedish pop magazine, with a lot of different artists and groups. Anyway, a
few years ago, (when they still were pretty unknown) B.S.B were there and it was like one of their first
shows ever. They still remember it though and today they had recorded a short video where they said
that they were sorry that they couldn´t be there and that they hoped that we enjoyed their other
concerts, and at the end, they performed an acappella version of I want it that way. Wasn´t that sweet ?

Well, that´s it for now. See ya some other time backstreet lovers!

Concert Review: August 6, Stockholm, Sweden (Emma)

Source: Emma Henriksson kevygirl_@hotmail.com

I went to my very first BSB concert and hopefully NOT the last on August 6th in Stockholm, Sweden. The
show was teriffic. All the dancers were great. The fireworks and special effects made everything even
better.

When they boys entered the stage on their surf/skate-boards the crowd, 14.000 girls and boys, went
crazy. I loved every second of it! Kevin led them around the stage so everyone could get a great look at
them. And everyone was screaming.

When they started to sing the first song "Larger than life" I actually thought that everyone in the arena
was going to faint. That song is totally phat live. It's great. But my fave moment has to be when they sang
"Show me the meaning of being lonely". When Howie told us that they wanted to dedicate it to Denniz PoP
you could hear it in his voice how much he loves and misses Denniz. It was beautiful and very touching.

During the "Perfect fan" song they brought daughters and mothers up on stage. It was cute but a bit to
fussing I think. The ONE thing that was SOOOO cute during this part was when everyone was standing up
singing. Kevin was still sitting by his "daughter and mother" talking. The young girl was so shy she didn't
even look at him. And of course when Kevin played his solo, it was also great. The medley
"Everbody/We've got it going on/That's the way I like it" was great live. As everything else was.

They did two encores. First out was " It's gotta be you"- great. The boys introdueced the band and all the
dancers. Second: "I want it that way" - amazing. All the 14.000 people were singing along and by
themselves.

If you have the chance to see the show DO IT!!! You will never regreat it.

Concert Review: August 2/3, Helsinki, Finland (Olga)

Source: Olga tiny_bluebell@hotmail.com

Hi, my name is Olga and I would like to tell u about Backstreet Boys concert which was held in Finland. I
went to the concert which was on the August 2nd. When my friend and me arrived to the Hartwall Areena
we saw like 2 thousand girls-Backstreet fans. About half of them were wearing T-shirts with boys.

Making photos was not allowed but I managed to take camera inside that's why I made 15 photos of the
concert. The concert started at 9pm but not at 8pm. At 8pm some Finnish band came on stage to sing some
songs. Peeps were excited and sang songs with that band. Then that band went backstage and BSB concert
started.

Guys appeared in smoke from some corner on the boards. They were wearing their traditional blue and
silver costumes. They looked like a team from the spaceship. They had very serious faces. The funniest
thing was that Nick had a pony-tail on the top of his head. It was so cute!

The first song was Larger Than Life, then guys sang slow songs from the first album, nearly all songs
from the second album and all songs from the third album (except I Need You Tonight). The show was
AWESOME!!!!

Every 10 minutes they appeared in different clothes. Kevin played his solo-song on the piano. It was so
beautiful. The last songs was Its Gotta Be You. During that song guys introduced to the audience the
Backstreet band. Each boy introduced one person. It was so KEWL! They were bouncing around, playing
jokes, telling different funny stuff. In the whole it was tremendous. Then they said bye-bye and
disappeared.

When several minutes had passed they appeared again and sang I Want It That Way. OMG THE
CONCERT WAS GREAT AND IT WAS THE BEST DAY IN MY LIFE!!!

Concert Review: August 2/3, Helsinki, Finland (Sonja)

Source: Sonja loving_you150@yahoo.com

I was in a B.S.B concert 2-3.8 in Finland, and i just thought i lett you guys know how fun there was!=)

ok,if somebody hasnt seen the Millennium Concert,i say go and see it now!I never seen like it
before. There was like 4.000 people there=) I think the start was the best thing, when they are flying in
the stage. I just think the guys did really good job in the hole show. And the show was full of talented
dancers(they gave some extra there)and it was full of energy=).

And it was sooo funny as well. Brian told/make his jokes as usually, and he looked really cute and
healthy. This was my first time i ever seen those guys live,so i was positively surprised, how Nick has
grown up through these years. He wasnt that young, shy boy at all anymore. He did his sexy dance
moves, and god he was good at dancing!=)Really cool have to say.

And of course not forgetting the others talented boys, Kevin looked dark and handsome, and he played
with paino his song.Howie was really sweet i think,he kept on smiling at the fans=)And of course A.J.was
really sweet too, though he can look kinda tough, but he was sweet, when he waved at the fans.

There was so cool part, when Nick started playing the drums. He really get into it,and he even played some
guitar and piano,i was like WOW!:) And the gave teddybears to the fans, that was cool. And oh yeah,Nick
was soo funny, when he falled on the stage. He put his hands on his face, and actually he looked like a
teddybear, hehe:) But the hole show was such a experience to me(and all fans!)I never forget it for sure.

Now i just wait for the next Backstreet Boys concert.. KEEP THE FAITH B.S.B FANS,CAUSE ITS DA
B.S.B!!!!!

Concert Review: August 5, Gothenburg, Sweden (Johan)

Source: Johan johan_ewe@hotmail.com

I wrote this less than 2 hours since I had left Scandinavium in Gothenburg after a fabulous BSB concert!!
It was my very first BSB concert since I'm one of guys who began liking BSB this year (mainly thanks to
"IWITW" and a little help from a friend, a girl who's a BSB fan). Well, what can I say?

Everything was just simply GREAT: The powerful intro on the flying boards and the dancers marching
around the stage with "fire". The stage, the show, Kevin when he was flying hanging upside down right
above me, the whole atmosphere inside Scandinavium. The dancers were great, and the sound was great
too (much thanks to my special earplugs that let in music at a healthy level but leave out noise like, erm,
the shrieking girl just next to me for example...)

I had a great seat just above the level of the stage floor, so I got a good close look of everything.
Scandinavium was sold out of course and I was one of the perhaps 20 guys in the audience (who wasn’t
staff or media or security or something)... but it was okay.

The dancers are great I think, they are perfect on that large stage and seem to have a good time with
the boys. I guess Nick and AJ do way more dirty dancing than some of the youngest gals can take, I
guess...?! Nick and Brian do some inside stuff now and then, like alternative dance steps. Nick and Howie
also did an hilarious "MC-wannabee rap" thing towards the end of the show :-)

And their voices! AJ is hollerin´like crazy now and then, as usual I guess, but it’s fun! But when he sings,
he rules I think! Nick and Brian sound great as well Nick especially. He seems kinda shy and quiet at
interviews, but on stage he’s the real actor along with AJ, I think. Brian does little funny things now and
then but isn’t as loud as Nick and AJ. (At least not tonight.)

When Kevin finally gets to sing the crowd goes nuts. I like it too, because he’s got a cool voice that you
don’t hear too often.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Kevin and Howie seems to be the only ones without tattoos (cuz' I saw a big
one on Brians left shoulder). Kevin is doing small talk now and then, working up the audience along with AJ.
He is also pretty cool by the grand piano, lifted up high in the air doing his solo part.

Nick can’t keep his hands off a pair of drum sticks and gets stuck for a while somewhere among the
percussion and the new female band member. Howie has a killer tenor voice and hits some serious high
notes here and there. He’s also good in Spanish, Perfect Fan etc. He’s the only one who tried to speak
Swedish during the night - but otherwise I thought he seemed kinda serious tonight (except for the
stunt with Nick). He shouldn’t be though, cuz’ he had the coolest hairdo at present: really neat braids
along the head, african style sort of. (One of the black dancers had similar braids.) He also introduced
Show Me the Meaning, which they dedicated to Denniz PoP and sort of began with a silent 10 seconds,
standing up with heads bowed.

The clothes? Way cool! Well, everything except maybe the pink suits. But I guess they were supposed to
be extremely romantic when singing Spanish Eyes - and doing the salsa steps with the rest of the dancers
too.. The songs? Besides IWITW, my other top fave song is "That's the Way I Like It"!! It comes at the
end of a medley, and they sing almost the whole song in a super-mega-fabulous way! The dancers and the
guys have some kind of teasing mock fight, and the whole house really likes this!

But I guess everyone agree that the concert was too short (can't get enoguh, right?)!! I counted 19 songs
- the two medleys and Kevin´s piano solo included.

The Songs: Larger than Life, Get Down, As Long AULM, Don’t Wanna Lose U Now, Quit Playing Games,
Don’t Want U Back, Perfect Fan, Kevin’s solo, Back 2 Yr Heart, Everybody, We’ve Got It Goin On, That’s
the Way I Like It, Spanish Eyes, I’ll Never Break Yr Heart, No One Else Comes Close, All I Have to Give,
Show Me the Meaning, It’s Gotta B U, I Want It That Way.

Well, I definitely want it this way, so I'm really glad I got that ticket a few months ago...

Concert Review: July 30/31, Oslo, Norway (Camilla)

Source: Camilla bubblegum_1983@hotmail.com

We had been standing in line for 12 hours the first day, and we were in the front row! We were looking
forward to the concert sooooo much!! I was really looking forward to see Nick again. After about 30
minutes the support act came up on stage. They were a swedish band called Star. They SUCKED!!!So BAD!
I was hoping Tatyana Ali was going to support BSB in Norway too, but unfortunally she wasn't.

When the show finnaly started. The band first came on stage dressed in white. Then 10 dancers came up.
And finally...BSB came! They came flying on "spaceboards" right over me and my friends heads!!! Nick had
this cute ponytale on the top of his head. (He didn't have it the 2'nd day) He looked gorgeous! So did the
other guys!!! Then they started singing "Larger than life". They were dressed in "spacy" clothes. They
looked as they came straight from the moon!

Then they sang "Get down" and the crowd went NUTS!! After this Nick was alone on stage, talking to the
crowd, while the others were changing. He said how much he had missed Norway, and all the usual stuff.
Then Aj came up screaming: "ARE YOU READY TO PARTY?!?!?!?" Of course we were!!

They sang a lot of songs, but I can't say all of them here. I guess I was a little jealous of the girls who
came up on stage on "Perfect fan". I really wish I was one of them.

The first day when they sang "Quit playing games", Brian flew over me. And the second day Howie flew
over me.

In the end of the second concert, I was really sad. But Howie touched my hand, so I'm happy about that!!!!

If BSB comes to your town. Go to the concert, you won't regret it!!!

KEEP THE BACKSTREET PRIDE ALIVE!!!!

Concert Review: July 21'st, Bremen, Germany (Anna)

Source: Anna ania@backstreet.home.pl http://backstreet.home.pl

At 4 p.m. I was in front of the arena. I stood there in the incredible crowd for 3 hours before I got in
the arena. First what I did was of course to check out how the stage looks. And I was so happy, when I
saw that I'll see boys very very close! Thanks God, the arena wasn't big. I went out to buy a reproduction
of BSB's backstage pass with boys' autographs and a big bill (If you wasn't at the 'Into The Millennium'
concert yet, I tell you that you have to buy it! This book contains many beautiful pictures of the boys,
which were made especially for that tour.)

I bought also two beautiful big posters of BSB together and Nicky, of course. But all the boys look
gorgeous on these posters. Then I went back to the stage part of the arena. It was about 8.40 p.m. but no
support act appeared on the stage! I've heard that 2-4 Family is BSB's second supporting act after
Tatyana Ali. But like the other people in the arena I was excited to see Backstreet Boys live, that I didn't
mind there was no supporting band. About 8.50 p.m. some woman asked fans to throw their gifts and
cuddle toys for the Backstreet Boys on the stage right now. The security picked them up.

Exactly at 9.00 p.m. the 'Into The Millennium' show began! From the first seconds I was sure, it's a huge
and great concert. The 'Star Wars' music began, the rocket lamps turned on and BSB's dancers went with
these lamps around the stage. The band appeared on the stage in white cloths behind their instruments.
After a few seconds sounded a big boom and scream of thousands girls: 'Backstreet Boys, Backstreet
Boys..." In the fog appeared finally our great stars - the Backstreet Boys!! They flew slowly and safely on
the stage and I saw Nick for the first time live! I'll never forget that moment! He flew as the first one.
Next to him was my second favourite Backstreet Boy - Brian. Then boys went around the stage and
stopped direct in front of me. Kevin screamed: "Bremen, are ready to party?!". Our scream gave boys a
clearly answer! BSB should be serious in that part of the show, but they couldn't do that when they've
heard us sooo screaming! Nick was smiling all the time. I saw him very good. On his left side stood B-Rok.
He was also smiling and looking around the audience. The same was with Howie and I guess with A.J., but I
couldn't see A.J. good, 'cause he was on the other side. They all looked very happy, just like they didn't
expect such welcome. Came the time "Larger Than Life", "Get Down" and "The One". Boys gave us all of
their power! Their dance with the girls was great and they looked sooo good.

A.J. had his new haircut - now he got short black hair and I have to say, I never was a big A.J.'s fan
although I always loved his voice and I think he's a really cool guy. But after this concert I've got a lot
more good feelings to him. A.J. stood a lot on my side of the stage and I could watch him clearly. He's
really great and looks now very very good. New haircut got also Howie. He got his pony as always, but his
hair were made in small plaits on the head. Howie smiling asked us, do we like his new haircut - he's so
nice in every sentence he says, don't you think so? Howie said, he doesn't think he'll stay with this
haircut for a long time. But it's cool, that he want to try something new. Brian's hair a little bit shorter
and fairer. Kev got the same haircut, which really fits to him. And Nick - at the beginning he got a pony,
then his normal haircut and during "It's Gotta Be You" & "I Want It That Way" he got a red kerchief on
his head. Everytime Nick looked gorgeous!

After those 3 fast songs boys went down, but Nick stayed on the stage and said that BSB were away for
so long, 'cause they recorded the "Millennium" album and they wanted it to be a really good one. Nick
asked us: "Do you enjoy 'Millennium' ?" Our answer could be just one - a huge scream, which means of
course we do. Nick said also: "We love you, we're glad you're here, enjoy the rest of the show. Thank
you!" Then the rest of guys introduced themselfs: Howie - "I wanna say 'danke schön' from the bottom of
my heart to each and everyone of you out there!", Bri - "It's because of you - the Backstreet Boys fans,
that make us the Backstreet Boys, so 'danke schön' to each and everyone of you!", Kev - "We've missed
you, guys. 'Wir haben euch vermißt!', yeah.", A.J. - "I just to say 'Ich möchte euch alle küssen. Ich liebe
euch alle.' Peace!"

Then BSB sang their midtempo hits - "Don't Wanna Lose You Now", "As Long As You Love Me" and "Quit
Playin' Games". They wore black shirts, trousers and leather jackets. During their famous chair routine
Brian did something wrong and lost the routine, 'cause his jacket caught on the chair, how Bri said later
on TV. But he looked then so cute with his confused smile sitting there on the chair and dancing his way
for a moment before he got the routine again, that we didn't mind his mistake at all. BSB are human just
like we are! At the end of "Quit Playin' Games" boys flew again above the audience - B-Rok on my right
side with yellow cuddle toy, and Nick, Kev, Bone and D. on my left side. Howie threw some cuddle toys in
the audience and did some great moves in the air. Nick got a small red shining heart from some girl in the
crowd.

The next song was "Don't Want You Back". During this one boys got leaders at the edge of the stage. BSB
were dancing around them. On my side was Howie, B-Rok and Bone. A.J.'s dance was really full of power
and very sexy. Well, it's his favourite track on the "Millennium" album. But he didn't go to far at all. All his
dance was sexy, but always also in a good taste. Good work, A.J.!

Then Kev said it's time for a song written by Brian for his mother and brother - "The Perfect Fan". BSB
choosed 5 women with their daughters, who sat on the center stage. Kev asked 'his' mother and
daughter: "Wie heißt du?", which means 'What's your name?' and then he went closer to us and said, that
BSB sing this song for all the mothers in the audience. Boys stood on the edge of the stage and started
to sing. On my side was A.J. and Howie. I could see also Brian a little bit. Then boys grabbed daughters'
hands and walked with them around the stage singing.

Came the time for Kevin's solo. On the stage appeared a white piano and Kev sitting behind it. BSB's
great saxofonist - Mindi Abair - came to Kevin and they played his solo together. I'm sure you know it
from the unplugged concert. The light was changing slowly from red, pink to white. Kevin was really
centered on his play and looked so handsome. He plays beautiful on the piano. After this song Kev started
to play "Back To Your Heart" - one of my favourite tracks on the "Millennium" album. That's why I was
disappointed, that the rest of guys sang sitting on the other side of the stage. But I could see them on
the screens. Nicky looked incredibly and sang so beautiful, just like on the CD. You know this part when
Brian sings with his pure voice: "(...)I don't know how it got so crazy / But I'll do anything to set things
right / 'cause your love is so amazing / Baby, you're the best thing in my life". I love this part and Brian
sang it superb live!

Then the stage went dark. After a few seconds the center of it went up in beautiful blue light. The
dancers started "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" routine. Finally came out BSB in nice white clothes. Brian
started to sign this famous beginning: "Everybody / Rock your body/ Everybody / Rock your body right /
Backstreet's Back'99 alright!". B-rok and Kev were on my side. Bri looked so funny with the white hood
on his head! He and Kev danced perfectly that gorgeous Fatima's routine. I think Kev had to be a really
good dance teacher before joining BSB. He moves so fine! "Everybody" turned to "We've Got It Goin'
On" and then to "That's The Way I Like It" - one of my favourite songs on "Backstreet's Back" album.
BSB were singing and dancing with the dancers going around the stage. I saw Nick only on the screen, but
his dance with 'his' girl looked very sexy and moved our imagination. The same was with A.J. and Brian. I
really like it. Brian took a poster from one of the girls in the audience and gave to one of Backstreets.

Really beautiful was also the next part of the show, when boys sat on stools on the center stage, which
went up. BSB wore dark pink trousers, white shirts and light grey waistcoats. They looked so mature and
simply superb! I was surprised, when I've heard Howie starting to sing "Spanish Eyes". I've read many
reviews of BSB's concerts in Europe, but nobody mentioned about BSB singing it also. I think they sang
this extra 19th song especially for German fans and 'cause they were in really good mood and felt
themselfs good, too. I was really happy, 'cause I love "Spanish Eyes". Nick's part is wonderful and
hearing him singing it live - wow, it was something to remember for the rest of life, just like his parts in
"Back To Your Heart" & "No One Else Comes Close". He sat there above, his hair were combed back. Nick
sang with so great passion, what showed his every move. His voice went straight from his heart and soul.
(If you've read Nick's mother book "The Heart And Soul Of Nick Carter", you know what I mean.) A.J.'s
part in "No One Else Comes Close" was also amazing. This guy got so incredible voice! I just stood there
enjoing his and the other guys' singing and thanked God for so gorgeous 5 people, who gave me the best
of themselfs and made me the most happy girl in the whole world. Their harmonie in "I'll Never Break
Your Heart" was perfect!

Next one was "All I Have To Give". During this song boys wore also dark pink suits and light grey hats. I
don't have to tell you, how amazing looks their hat routine live. Brian and Kev were closest me again.
These hats and clothes made them sooo handsome. Then Howie said the next song - "Show Me The
Meaning (Of Being Lonely)" - they tribute to Denniz Pop - BSB's first componist, who created their first
single ever. When the boys sang the first words: "Show me the meaning of being lonely" with so much
power, I stood there like hypnotized. BSB sang their parts with passion and Kev was really good! I don't
know, why he's always behind the rest of guys. Everyone adores Nick, and I love him the most also
(although after this concert I think I love them all quite the same!), but I think all the Backstreet Boys
deserve the same feelings from the fans. When Kev sang, girls were screaming just like when Nick sang!
During "Show Me The Meaning (Of Being Lonely)" I saw Nicky only on the screen, but his impression of
his part was full of heart. He looked straight at us. When Kev's and Howie's face appeared on the
screens too, I saw tears in their eyes. Denniz was a really good friend for the Backstreets, not just a
producer.

After a short break BSB came out in their own clothes to sing "It's Gotta Be You". They stood together
and started to sing in front of me again. Nick was direct in front of my eyes! He wore a black sleeveless
shirt, black trousers and a red kerchief on the head. When sang with power the first words: "Baby, it's
the way you make me / Kinda get me go crazy / Never wanna stop...", I wanted to say exactly the same to
him! He sang it amazing! Later Nick went for a few seconds down to girls. Then I saw his shark tattoo on
his left arm - it's quite big, but looks ok! A.J. wore a white sleeveless shirt & black trousers, Kevin black
sleeveless shirt with white signs & black trousers, Howie also a black T-shirt & dark blue trousers, Brian
light grey trousers, a hat in the same colour and a black T-shirt. During "It's Gotta Be You" BSB
introduced their band. Nick introduced William "Bubba" Bryant on drums (he's also a band leader), Guy
Walker on guitar and Dennis Gallo also on the guitar (Nick played a little bit on his guitar). Then Bri
introduced Tom Smith. B-Rok put a blue towel and his hat on Tom's head. So Tom played his solo didn't
looking at the keyboards. In this way Brian proved Tom's talent. Next Howie introduced Louis Vigilante on
bass. Howie made a mistake in his name - nothing strange! - and we all laughed. He's really Sweet D.! At
the end A.J. introduced "The only one female in Backstreet Boys' band" how he said - Mindi Abair. This
incredible girl played amazing on sax, percussion and keys. Brian and Kev introduced also BSB's 2 best
pairs of dancers. During all this time Nick played with Mindi - she played on the sax and Nick on
percussion - you know it's his passion - and Brian stayed on the top of the stage and gave us signs to sing
that fragment "Uh, ooh!" from "It's Gotta Be You". He didn't have to do it for a long time. We felt in the
blood, we've to sing it. (After the concert on the street I've heard girls screaming it also!). When the
song came to end silver confetti went down on us. I grabbed it! Boys bowed to us on every side of the
stage and went out.

After a few seconds BSB went up on the center part of the stage. It was time for their current biggest
hit single in Germany and the whole world - "I Want It That Way". Howie thanked us for making this song
number 1 in Germany. Brian started to sing: "You are my fire / The one desire / Believe when I say..." and
we all joined him. Brian turned the microphone to the audience and we sang alone the last verse of his
part: "I want it that way!" Brian looked so happy at that moment watching us singing. Then Nick started
his part standing alone still on the top of the stage. The rest of guys went down. Brian and Howie were on
my side. Bri was sooo funny, he waved to us all the time. I moved closer to the stage and I saw him just 3
or 4 meters in front of me! Then came A.J. He also waved to us, sent us a kiss and said: "Hi!". But the most
happy moment for me was when Nick came also so close to us as B-Rok and Bone. Nick stood there for a
seconds and sang and believe me or not, but he looked straight into my eyes!! I just felt my heart is
melting during these 3 seconds. You know, I'm not that crazy BSB fan, who sleeps 2 days before the
concert in front of the arena and I couldn't ever do something to break their privacy. I guess it's
because I'm in the same age as Nick is - 19 - and I've got a big respect for them all. But that moment,
when Nick looked into my eyes standing 2 meters in front of me with his funny red kerchief on the head,
I felt I'm like being really in heaven. Now I understand all these girls! I've noticed also that Nick, Bri and
A.J. lost a little bit of their weights. At the very end all the boys went again on the center stage. They
gave us a time to sing alone the chorus from "I Want It That Way". Howie stand in front of side. He was
really happy because of our singing and he directed us. Then D. sent us the last kiss and peace sign. Then
the center stage went slowly down. Nick stayed just for a moment longer dancing. Then he joined Kevin,
A.J., Brian and Howie and...unfortunately it was over!

For sure it was the best time of my life! About 2 hours of a great music, beautiful voices, superb dance &
fireworks, 19 Backstreet's songs and gorgeous 5 guys! I sang every word with them. I have no idea, when
these 2 hours passed by! After them I was so happy, but also sad it's over already. Backstreet Boys
brought me so much power and hapiness that night! If anyone had any doubts about them, boys proved
their professionalism perfectly. They sang just like we hear them on CDs and they gave us all their
energy. And thing more - Brian, Kev, Nick, A.J. and Howie enjoined themself as much as we did it! It
wasn't at all like 'God, another concert to perform...'. Guys performed as it was their first concert in
Germany, not one of the last.

If you still got the chance, go see them live! You just can't miss it! And Keep The Backstreet Pride Alive,
'cause NICK CARTER, HOWIE DOROUGH, BRIAN LITTRELL, A.J. McLEAN and KEVIN RICHARSON
ARE LARGER THAN LIFE! (They really should call their album like that!)

Please check out my "Backstreet Home" page to see cool pics from the concert: http://backstreet.home.pl

Concert Review: July 21'st, Bremen, Germany (Tina)

Source: Tina ddam@post6.tele.dk

It was kinda a long waitingtime, but it always is, but considering that they had no opening act and they
were an hour late, it was a long time. Like always they started their show flying on stage to the hymne
from Star wars, it was awesome, finally they were here again.

Howie had his hair in braids which looked amazingly good to him, Kevin looked fine as always, AJ was
even more crazy than ever, Brian looked so cute and he was kinda skinny and Nick was mighty fine as
always to.

The dancers were also on stage and they did Larger than life amazingly and everyone sang along. Then
they did Get down and ran around stage to do some dancing, I was in front of Nick and I must say he did
a great job. In the middle of the song, they all had to get up on the stage in the middle again and Nick ran
up to get there quickly, but as goofy as he is, he fell and layed on the stage and the other guys just
laughed at him, it was so cute, when Brian helped him up again.

After that they did The one and then As long as you love me, during the chair routine, the guys each had
to sit in one corner of the stage and I had Brian in front of me, but when they had to pick up the chair,
Brians chair didn´t work and he lost the track and was just standing there not knowing what to do. He
smiled and made funny faces to the audience untill he knew the dance routine again, it was so amazingly
cute.

They did Don´t wanna lose you now and Quit playin' games and then they had to do Don´t want you back,
the dancers were awesome and the guys did a great job as well, I must say they amazed me. During the
Perfect fan which they did after Quit playin' games, they all had a girl and a mum on stage with them,
mostly they all had young girls and when they walked around AJ's girl walked really stiff and she looked
like she was gonna cry every second, she was that happy.

Then they did Back to your heart, where Kevin played the piano and the other guys sat down and sang the
song, it was so cute, then they left to go change clothes. We could all suddenly hear thunder and up of the
stage came the dancers and then the guys, they did Everybody/We've got it going on and That´s the way
I like it as a medley and I must say it was good.

Then the guys changed clothes again and they came on stage and sat down on some chairs, cuz it was time
for some slow songs, they started off with Spanish eyes, which surprised me, cuz I was told that they
only did that song in Spain, but it was so cute. Then they did I´ll never break your heart and everyone
sang along, No one else comes close was after that and then it was time for All I have to give.

They had the hat routine with and it was amazing, they all did a great job and no one screwed it up like
I´ve heard they did a few other times. Then they got up and sat down again, it was time for Show me the
meaning of being lonely, which they dedicated to Denniz Pop and while singing. the stage was turning
around so we got to see all the guys. The speed was a little bit faster now and they started It´s gotta be
you, we all had to raise our hands and say uh uh, while the guys ran around the stage and introduced all
the dancers and the band.

Obviously Nick loved introducing bandmembers, cuz everytime he introduced a new one, he played a bit on
their instruments. He had some baggy pants on and when he freaked out on the instruments, his pants
were almost falling down and he did it more than once (I wish he hadn´t stopped so they would have fallen
down) he totally freaked out during that song and when they had finished, they said their thank yous and
left.

The band were still on stage and the guys came back to do I want it that way, which the crowd sang along
on as loud as they could. Finally when the song was over, the guys left the stage and the concert was done.
It was so awesome, cuz I had eye contact with Nick lots of times and he even smiled, Brian waved at me
and smiled, while Kevin "just" smiled. Howie winked at me, cuz I was waving at him and he was using both
hands in the danc eroutine and AJ looked at me, I was in heaven that day and I can´t wait to see them
again.

Concert Review: July 12'th, Zaragoza, Spain (Lorena)

Source: Lorena gdomingu@roble.pntic.mec.es http://www.fortunecity.com/tinpan/lennon/774/

I arrived in Zaragoza (an hour away from my house) at 9 in the morning.. the concert was going to start at
9:30pm..so.. what I was going to do? go to the hotel or start lining up for the concert?

We (my two friends and I) decided go to our hotel (it's the same hotel that Bsb stayed when they were
here last year). We saw some fans waiting by the door, so we thought maybe they were there!!!! But then
we realize that we had read in the newspaper earlier that they weren't spending the night at the city....

We asked the people working in the hotel to clarify it... and it was true... Bsb was leaving immediately to
Barcelona after the concert.

We went to check other really expensive important hotels but found nothing about BSB so.. at 2:00pm we
decided to head for the concert. When we arrived, we saw thousands of people waiting outside....it looked
like they were there a month ago! :O)

We waited outside the stadium till 5:30 pm, then at that time the security guards started letting the
people in. I wasn't near the front of the line, so I didn't really have high hopes in having front row seats.
At that moment i just hoped for decent seats. At 7:00pm, we finally entered the stadium. I went directly
to look for close seats. To my surprise when i looked towards the front of the stage, there weren't a lot
of people there because most people wanted to sit. I ran and got my seats near the front section and got
to 5th row!! As people started moving, i got to 3rd row!!!!! Ohmigosh, this was so close!!! I was going to
see BSB very very close!!! :O)

The police checked everyone for cameras but I was able to hide mine! :O) So..I took some pictures..not
very good ones though :O( The Barcelona's ones are better! :O)

The concert began at 9:50p.m...everybody went crazy and Kevin said: ZARAGOZA! ESPAÑA! They sang a
lot of songs from the old and new album.Spanish eyes was one o the best!! (in which Howie said in
Spanish: donde estan los ojos españoles? ( in Spanishmeans: Spanish eyes) :O))) It was great!! They also
said.: Nunca te haré llorar (Spanish version of I'll never break your heart).

Here are the songs in order:

    Larger than life
    Get down
    The one
As long as you love me
    Don't wanna lose you Now
    Quit playing games
    Don't want you back
    The perfect fan
    Back to your heart
    (Everybody) Backstreet's back
    We've got it goin'on
That's the way I like it
    Spanish eyes
Nunca te haré llorar/I'll never break your heart
    No one else comes close
    All I have to give
Show me the meaning of being lonely
    It's gotta be you
    I want it that way

Individually, the guys said something in Spanish.. example: Nick said : Te amo! :O) (I love you) hehehehe
..It was fantastic!! During the concert.. they threw lots of things from the stage.. and I was able to catch a
rose that Howie threw out.. :O)) At the end of the concert, we tried to look in the hotels again, but again
no such luck.

go to my site of the 2 concerts to see the pics! :O)

Concert Review: July 2'nd, Milan, Italy (Mojca)

Source: Mojca Mateja.Gorup@guest.arnes.si

I still can't believe that I was in 1st row! The best thing was that security guys didn't even check us. They
didn't even look if we had tickets! The concert started at 9.37 pm. The first one that I saw was A.J. and
then Nick. He was gorgeous. I mean, they were all gorgeous.

I did everything to get their attention. Once Amanda heard me and she turned and smiled at me. Howie
smiled to me sooo nice. He came down to fans but I didn't see him coming (italian fans were screaming as
much as before). I missed him just for 1 cm, but it was great any way. Also some of the dancers smiled
and waved to me.

I was jumping up and down all the time to get their attention and I did! They all looked at me. AJ looked at
everyone in first row. When Brian asked A.J. what is his fave song on the album, he started singing I
need you tonight. Nick was pretending to be upset. I think they were all in a good mood. They weren't like:
Oh, another concert.

I know that I'm not describing the concert, but you already know what songs they sing, what they do.
Brian was playing with teddy bears all the time. It was really funny when A.J., one of the dancers and I
think Tommy put on bras. :)

Nick took a big hat of a fan (he had to go very close to them) and then he was playing with it. He was
making funny faces, like usually. One of the female dancers gave to Kevin a teddy bear. When he kissed it
she throw it to the fans. They throw a lot of teddy bears to the audience. When the concert finished one
of security guys threw to us a pink dog and I caught it. They also threw from the stage a bottle, but I
don't know who was drinking from it.

One fan was asking a security boy where are BSB and he told her where is the hotel, but not the name.
Unfortunately I had to go home after the concert.

Concert Review: July 1'st, Milan, Italy (Cristina)

Source: Cristina crist_bsb@geocities.com

On th 30'th June I arrived in Milan after 15 hours on the train. On the 1'st of July I went with my cousin
to the concert at 6.15 PM and the FORUM was all full! At about 8 PM we heard that NICK and BRIAN
were outside the FORUM playing basketball. We saw them but we couldn't go outside where they were so
we stayed there until 8.30 PM. Nick didn't turn around, instead Brian turned toward us (there were
around 30 of us ) and he motioned to us to be quiet because everyone was shouting "Nick ! Brian !" I got 6
photos and I saw Nick's tattos. Yes, it's true that Nick has a tattoo on his back, a musical note.

At 9.30 PM the show started with the Star Wars music on a pentagonal stage where there were 10
dancers! Kevin said "Are you ready to party ?!". The first song was "Larger Than Life", then "Get Down"
and "The One". Nick said something about him, then AJ, Howie, Brian and Kevin. They sang "As long as you
love me", "Don't wanna lose you now", "Quit playin'games", "Don't want you back" during which they flew
over the audience.

During "The Perfect Fan" they brought 5 girls with their mothers onto the stage. Afterwards they sang
"Back To Your Heart" and Kevin played piano. Then they sang a mix of "Everybody", "We've got it goin'on"
and "That's the way I like it" followed by "I'll never break your heart" , "No one else come close", "All I
have to give" and "Show me the meaning of beign lonely" (with pink clothes!).

They changed from the pink clothes into white ones and then performed "It's gotta be you" where they
presented the dancers and musicians. It seemed like it was the end of the show but they returned to play
"I want it that way" and all the audience sang along.

There were many anxious parents waiting for their daughters. This was my first BSB concert and it was
the best show of my life and I won't forget it !!!

You can see the pics of the show by visiting my website at http://backstreet.freeweb.org/

Concert Review: June 29'th,Rome, Italy (Angie)

Source: Angie Berks angie4bsb18@yahoo.com

It all happened on June 29th in Rome Italy at the Olympico Stadium! My first Backstreet Boys concert
ever! It was the greatest night of my life!

I always was really into the Backstreet Boys especially AJ McLean because he is so cute and he is so
talented along with the other Backstreet Boys. My 18th birthday was also June 29th which made the night
even more special! Anyways, about two months ago I told my mother that I would love to attend a
Backstreet Boys concert with my best friend (Monique) for my birthday more than anything because they
are my most favorite singing group. But in order for my friend to attend it she would have to fly all the
way from Texas which is in America, to all the way over here.My mother said that we didn't have enough
money so I was pretty sad and upset.

Still I continued with my daily things, I mean, I thought to myself maybe some way I could get my best
friend over here and go see the boys in concert but just not this year. Yeah, I was really bummed out. To
make matters worse, a week before my birthday , my Grandma passed away and I was so sad and
depressed. I thought that everything was going wrong until the day of June 29th. It was in the morning
and I was sleeping when I heard a tap tap tap on my bedroom door. I thought it was my mom or my sister
Jeveeze and I told the person to go away. But there was still a tap tap tap! I finally told them to either
leave me alone or come in. The person came in and to my surprise it was my best friend in the world
Monique!

I jumped out of my bed and rushed over to hug her. She told me that my mom and sis and her had
something waiting downstairs. So Monique went back downstairs as I got dressed. After that I walked
downstairs and I saw all sorts of gifts sitting by the couch! I eopened each one. First there was a Cd
player and I really wanted one of those, second was the Millennium Cd by the Boys, third was a pair of
really nice sandals, and fourth was a really nice outfit that my mom had handmade for me. Then Monique
said I should sit down and relax for a moment. She told me to close my eyes after I sat down, so I did
and when I opened it she was holding a blue envelope that had my name on it. I excitedly opened the
envelope and read the card that was inside and then I opened the card to see two BACKSTREET BOYS
MEET AND GREET CONCERT TICKETS!!!!!!!! I was so excited I jumped to my feet and screamed my lungs
out! I kept on giving Monique hugs and everything because I was so excited because now I could actually
meet my idols face to face!

We arrived at the concert at 5:00pm because we wanted to be early and possibly chat with the Boys for a
few minutes because we had our passes. At about 6:30 there was already a line of 600 people that were
waiting and Monique and I were the first in line. After we got into Olympico Stadium we were led by a
bodyguard I guess who that was to the back of the stage where everyone was. I was really, really nervous
I mean, I was about to pee my pants or faint or something! I was looking around with Monique when I
spotted Fatima Robinson talking with the Boys' keyboardist! I waved to her and she smiled at me. Then
that's when I saw him!!!! AJ McLean!!! He was walking out of his dressing room wearing a pair of silver
sunglasses, a white tank top (I think you guys call them wifebeaters over there in the states) and he was
also wearing a pair of really baggy blue jeans that had a wallet chain attatched to them. I couldn't do
anything but just stand there. But Monique being the outgoing person that she is yelled out his name and
he came over. I started shaking really bad but when we got to talking I finally calmed down a bit. I asked
him how he was doing and how he liked the tour and he said everything was going fine but he really
missed his girlfriend back in the states. I said that it was none of my businuss but I asked who his
girlfriend was and he told me her name is Chasmin Stover and she's in a singing group too. He took out
his wallet and showed me a picture of her. I was sorta jealous that she was with him but I congradulated
him on the relationship and I said she's very lucky anyways. That's when Monique told him that it was my
18th and I kinda blushed.

I took out a picture that I was carrying with me that was of him and I asked him if he could sign it and he
said sure. That's when the other guys came walking out of the dressing room. I remember it so clearly. I
started shaking again because I already met AJ but the rest of the Boys! Eeek! They said hello to me and
wished me a happy birthday with a little song and then their manager said they had to go and get ready. I
was kinda upset that they had to leave but at least I got to meet them and I got a kiss on the cheek from
Kevin!

The rest of the concert rocked! They started out with the song Larger Than Life and came out flying
over the audience on little surf board thingies! It was really cool! The concert was so great and I started
to cry at the end when they sang Perfect Fan. It was such a beautiful night and if I had one thing to say to
all of the Backstreet Boys it would be thank you for making my night. And a big thank you to my best
friend Monique!

Concert Review: July 27'th, Rotterdam (Liesbeth)

Source: Liesbeth Sewalt jan13@planet.nl

Hello everyone,

About 6 weeks ago the Backstreet Boys came to Holland to do a concert in the Amsterdam Arena that
could hold 60.00 people!. My 12 year old niece Melissa persuaded me to join her to that concert. Now I
must admit that before that show I did not know much about the Backstreet boys except some of their
most famous songs, but that night I was very impressed by the boys' talents. They are great singers,
performers and dancers and they are all mature individuals with their own personality and style which
makes this group so special. Their show was fantastic. Very impressive, particularly the "Space"-opening.
That really left me out of breath! Now you must know that I go to live-concerts by well-known artists
quite regularly but this certainly was one of the best shows I have seen in years! The boys' songs and
harmonies are great! So in the meantime I have bought all of their albums and keep myself informed
about their activities by means of this great site (the best one on the net! Good job Caitlin, my
compliments!)). So I can say I am a fan now even though I am 43 and so are many other mothers and
aunties in our age group that have been to the show. This means that the Backstreet boys are not just for
young people but make music for all age-groups.

Yesterday they came back to Holland to do two more shows in Rotterdam and naturally we were there
again. Two mothers who were sitting beside us with their daughters told us they had briefly met Nick and
AJ in the afternoon when they were shopping in the Rotterdam city centre, accompanied by some
bodyguards. They were extremely nice to them and they could take some pictures and get autographs.
How lucky some girls are eh!

Anyway, since the venue in Rotterdam, called AHOY, was much smaller and more intimate than the
Amsterdam Arena we had a much better view and we really enjoyed that. A Dutch vocal group called
"Replay" was the supporting act and they really heated up the crowd. Then at 20.30 the BSB-show started
and even though this time we knew what was going to come we were still very much impressed by that
grand opening! I won´t give away too much about that as that might spoil the surprise for the American
fans that still have to see the show, but it was great!

I can´t remember the right order, but the songs they did were "Larger than life", "Get down" (What a
party on stage!), "The one", "As long as you love me", "Don´t wanna lose you now", "Quit playing
games","Don´t want you back" (what a sensual act with the dancers!), "The perfect fan" (very touching),
"Back to your heart", "Everybody", "We´ve got it going on","That´s the way I like it", "I´ll never break
your heart", "No-one else comes close", "All I have to give" "Show me the meaning of being lonely (what a
beautiful song and they sang it with so much emotion! Very touching!), "It´s gotta be you", "I want it that
way" and to all our suprise "Spanish eyes", which they did not sing at the first concert.

Kevin looked tanned and muscular(he is very popular amongst the mothers because of his masculine
appearance) and it was great to hear him sing solo, Howie wore a T-shirt with the name Rotterdam on it
and was great in "Spanish Eyes", AJ had his hair cut short again and in his natural colour. He is so sexy!
Brian was full of energy and jokes and looked very healthy and Nick looked absolutely gorgeous!. I can
easily understand why all the young girs like him so much and why the screaming reaches an absolute
maximum whenever he smiles into the camera! And to all those who are always so critical about him....he is
NOT fat!(No wonder after having done shows nearly every night for almost two months in a row now)
Nick is just a grown-up, broad-shouldered and mature man now and no longer the skinny boy (yes, I saw
old pictures!) he used to be! He is a great dancer too!Very sensual in "Don´t want you back" with that
female dancer. He is no longer shy but a very impressive performer with a god-given voice. I think BSB
have a great future ahead of them.

I could go on about this show for hours, but there is not enough space for that, so in all I would just like
to say that - in my personal opinion - the Backstreet Boys are the best vocal group in the popscene today
and hopefully for many more years to come! They should no longer be called a boys-group as they really
make great and mature music and they deserve all the credits and appreciation they are getting
everywhere in the world today!

So to all of you who still have the chance...do go and see the show! It is the best way to start the new
Millennium!

Lots of love from Holland!

Concert Review: June 17'th, London, England (Lauren)

Source: Lauren alan_wynne@wynnea.freeserve.co.uk

I went to the Backstreet Boys concert on the 17th June 1999 for the first time ever. After trying to get
tickets for their other concerts for years.

It all happened two weeks before. I got a phonecall from a friend, called Stephanie. And she said "You
know there is a Backstreet boys Concert, would you like to come as my dad has got two tickets?" At that
moment I had passed out and was laying on the floor. Crying and Screaming. I mean come on this is the
Backstreet Boys were're talking about. But then I thought: Oh no, my parents are in a America. So I said
I would call her back, I called my parents about 7:00 their time, and bursted out " Stephanie has invited
me to the Backstreet Boys concert can I go" And being such dearing loving parents!!!!! They said yes. So
thats how it started.

The whole two weeks i was going on and on and on about it. Then it finally came the big day!!!

I got ready tyhe make-up the outfit the usual and I was off.

We arrived at the concert and it was packed people wandering around everywhere. As my friend and I
were queing for some candy floss we heard everyone screaming. So of course we thought oh no we've
missed it so we rushed around tryint to find block 19, but couldn't find it. We asked the people there and
they said no need to rush they're not on yet. We got to our seats eventually.

We waited ages for it to start, first on was Tatiyana Ali which was wicked. One of friends at school was
there and her cousin caught a rose. Then it the lights went up another 15min wait then all of a suddent the
lights went off. It was then that my heart stopped beating. They lifted from one corner and I just
screamed at the top of my voice. ( Writing this is like reliving it!!) They started with all their best songs
and introduced themselves and how they loved being in the U.K and everything was so cool. Then one song
everyone noticed Kevin (Oh Baby) wasn't there as they started singing you saw Kevin lifting up from the
middle of the stage playing the piano. you see the song they were singing Kevin had written. (how cool is
that). I think the best part was when they flew for the second time, and Kevin was coming into the room
our way. So I decided to stand ON my chair. Which I did I waved and blew kisses and said " I love You
Kevin" Then at the moment. He saw me standing there going MAD blocked the light and waved. And
because I love Kevin so much I made a complete fool of myself by falling off the chair!!! But it was well
worth it!! I advise anyone who didn't go to go to one of their tours another time because they are the
best ever in the world. Lots of love from a

Bsb loving , get all their things, craxy over them, concert loving, album crazy, over the moon about them

Concert Review: June 14'th, Birmingham, England (Linz)

Source:

Most of us Backstreet fans say that we would do anything and go anywhere for these guys. So when I
discovered in January that the Boys would be doing a European tour I knew that I had to be there. I live
just north of Toronto, Ontario but am half British and a lot of my family lives there so we decided to
schedule my dad’s monthly visit at the same time as the concert. We originally had tickets for June 16th in
London at Earl’s Court but these were really far back and weren’t worth the face value we had paid. My
dad used all his sources and we found some really great tickets to the show in Birmingham at the National
Exhibition Centre on June 14th. They were expensive (100 pounds in Sterling or around $250 Canadian)
but if you want to get good seats to a Backstreet concert these days it costs a lot and you have to be
prepared to play hard ball.

I had to reschedule my year-end exams and fly across the Atlantic but finally the big day had arrived. We
arrived at the NEC two and a half hours early and bought loads of merchandise (about $200 worth, for
me and my friends back at home). Let me just say that the new merchandise is fab and if you will be going
to a concert soon bring loads of money because it’s really worth it. We were let in and Tatyana Ali, the
opening act who is truly amazing , preformed four songs off her Kiss the Sky album including He Loves
Me, Boy Knock Me Out, her newest single Everytime, a musical dedication to Will Smith and Daydreamin’.

Now I think that it is time to describe the stage. It really is better than anything the boys have ever
preformed on and this was definitely worth seeing. The stage is placed in the middle of the surrounding
audience and is five sided. The band members are located in the middle and surround a circular part of
the stage which rises and falls in various parts of the show. In between the band members are five ramps
which lead to this circular centre. There is a ramp for each of the guys and they use them throughout the
show. (It may be hard to understand but it’s the best that I can do without showing you a picture). As the
Star Wars theme begins ten dancers holding large torches enter from an aisle in the audience and walk
towards the stage.

There is also a large box located in the audience which appears to be a sound and lighting booth, but we
soon see that it’s not as a purple light and smoke emerge the Boys are pulled up by harnesses on silver
skateboards and fly towards the stage.

After they land they spend the next few minutes walking around military style stopping at each side of the
stage and facing the audience while not even cracking a smile. Finally, the music to Larger Then Life
begins and Brian starts the show with I may run and hide when you’re.... Fireworks go off from the
corners of the stage itself as well as rockets (with the Millennium logo written across them), that are
located along the sides of the five large screens above the stage.

They are wearing futuristic gear and dancing to a whole line of new dances. They keep the beats coming
with Get Down and the new The One. They slow it down and take the time to introduce themselves,
apologise for being absent for awhile and welcome us to the new Into the Millennium Tour.

They change their outfits and come out to preform As Long As You Love Me, Don’t Wanna Lose You Now
and Quit Playin’ Games in which each boy is again attached to a harness but this time they each fly from
their own side and fly down nearly touching the jumping, screaming fans. They preform a sexy Don’t Want
You Back (AJ’s fave) with the five female dancers letting us, the fans, know that they are still there and
closer to the Boys than any of us will ever be.

They next pick mother-daughter pairs from the audience and bring them up on stage to be serenaded to
The Perfect Fan. The daughters are walked around the stage and the Boys bow down to the mothers.
They again change their outfits and Brian starts with: Do you guys wanna hear a little bit of ‘Show Me the
Meaning’? How ‘bout a little bit of ‘Spanish Eyes’? before he bends down and asks a fan what she wants to
hear and the Boys tell what their favourite songs are off the new album. They sit on the ramps leading to
the centre of the stage and Kevin is raised from the centre while sitting at a large grand piano as the
Boys begin to sing Back To Your Heart. They shake it up and start new dances to Everybody, We’ve Got It
Goin’ On and That’s the Way I Like It.

The boys continue their swoonful crooning with I’ll Never Break Your Heart, No One Else Comes Close,
the classic All I Have To Give and Brian’s fave Show Me The Meaning. This was followed by my personal
favourite part of the show. They had changed their costumes again and Nick began It’s Gotta Be You.
They finished the song but the band kept the beat going as the Boys introduced all of the dancers who
each preformed a little dance routine to the audience. While they did their thing the guys hung out and
fooled around in the centre of the stage. They next introduced the band members and this was the best
part of the show as it showed the guys in their true personalities and acting like themselves.

They took their bows and the dancers disappeared and left the guys on stage for their final song. This
was I Want It That Way and before they preformed it they thanked the crowd for making it number one
in England. They sang and left as the centre part lowered them beneath the stage. They said their
good-byes and we were left with an empty stage. The guys had left and it was over.

Let me just say that the new show was amazing and if you have the opportunity to go to one in your own
city go because it was the best produced concert I have ever seen. These guys really can dance and sing
and are definitely a preforming band.
