Germany's veteran hip-hop act Die Fantastischen
Vier (the Fantastic Four) took away two prizes at the
annual Comet Awards, held Friday at the Akropolis
in Cologne. The group won the best rap or hip-hop act
honor, as well as best video clip for its single
"Mit Freundlichen Gruessen."
Among the international winners at the event were
Pet Shop Boys, who won best international video for "I
Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It
Anymore"; Britney Spears, newcomer; Backstreet Boys
and silverchair, Viva viewers' choice; and the
Offspring, international act. Xavier Naidoo was named top
national act.
Highlights of the show, which was presented by
German music TV network Viva, were broadcast
Saturday by national terrestrial channel ZDF.
Viva and Viva 2 will air the show several times over the
coming weeks.
