Back Home From Urraco
|
I've just returned home from my second mission trip to Urraco, Honduras, with ProPapa Missions America, Inc..
I made many new friends, saw new places, and of course, got to reunite with the children of Urraco, along with their families. I saw familiar faces and places, and I loved every minute of it. I invite you to read my journal and look at the photographs I took while there.
And, I have an announcement: I've decided that for every home I sell, I'll sponsor one child for one full year of schooling in Urraco on behalf of my Buyer or Seller. It is only $50 for grade school and $150 for Jr. High and High School.

Another Trip to Honduras in September
|
I've been asked to attend another mission trip to Urraco, Honduras in September by ProPapa Missions America, Inc.. Of course I said yes, it's going to be exciting. This time we'll be updating the medical clinic that serves the whole village of Urraco and other surrounding local communities.
This is a whole new group of folks, not the same ones from my trip in March. What it means is that I get to meet and make new friends all over again. I'll be taking as many photos as I can, and will consider sharing my personal Journal, as I've done with my trip from earlier this year.

My Trip to Honduras With ProPapa Missions America
|
It's finally here my trip to Urraco, Honduras. I'll be traveling with a group of 55 people from ProPapa Missions America, Inc.... a non-profit organization.
I'm going as part of a crew designated to build homes for this small village the catch is, I'll be doing it with people I don't know! And one other thing I possess not one 'speck' of Spanish in my vocabulary, and it's the language of Honduras. But I feel strongly about doing this, and I have no doubt that it will probably be the most gratifying work that I'll ever do.
The overall group is divided into three smaller groups. One is the Dental Team, one an Eye Care Team... and the group I'll be a member of is known as the Habitat Team. The current homes in Honduras are poorly constructed 'shacks'. When we finish, each family will have a solid cement block home including an indoor bathroom.
I'll have many, many photos to share once I get home. My plan is to journal the whole trip (if my laptop isn't "borrowed" as I've heard can happen) and then write about it so I can include it here, on the website. Hopefully, by sharing this experience, I can encourage some of you to attend with me in the future. Please consider it! I'd love for you to join me next time.

Realtors® Performance Plus Diamond Award
|
I was very flattered to find myself with this award again for 2004. I had over $4 million in sales and had 31 closed transactions. That's a lot of production, but I hope to accomplish even more this year.

Denine Wengewicz, Performance Plus Gold Award winner, is keeping me company in this photo, taken at the Awards Dinner. We agreed to show off our awards for the camera after much begging!
